How does teeth whitening work?Tooth whitening uses a safe bleaching gel process and a low powered laser to gently remove stains and other discoloration from the surface of your teeth without damaging any of the teeth's surfaces or enamel. This provides astonishing ultra-fast results (in less than an hour) that are immediately noticeable and following treatment your teeth will remain several shades whiter for 18-24 months in the majority of cases without the need for a repeat treatment.
Will laser teeth whitening damage my teeth? No, the gel and process used in teeth whitening is completely safe and will do no damage at all to your teeth or gums.
I am concerned that teeth whitening may not be safe - can you reassure me?If laser teeth whitening was not perfectly safe we would not be permitted to provide treatment. A safe non peroxide based whitening gel is used that has been thoroughly tested over the years to ensure it is absolutely safe. You also have the added guarantee that Tooth Whitening Pro consultants have been thoroughly trained in teeth whitening and they maintain the highest levels of oral hygiene at all times. Laser whitening using the whitening gels and low powered laser will cause no pain or damage to your teeth or cause them to crack - but it will get rid of potentially harmful bacteria from the surface of your teeth that normal brushing doesn't remove.
Will I suffer any pain during or after treatment?Everybody has different sensitivity and although laser teeth whitening is completely painless - and incidentally requires no injections or drilling - a small number of people will notice some minor sensitivity to their teeth and gums after treatment. Normally any sensitivity will dissipate after 24-48 hours and any level of discomfort is similar to the sensitivity experience by some when their teeth are subjected to hot and cold. If you are among a minority that experiences some mild sensitivity this can be normally be eased by brushing your teeth with a desensitising toothpaste.
I have dentures - will teeth whitening make those look whiter?Unfortunately teeth whitening treatments cannot be used to make veneers, crowns, bridges, dentures, fillings or other dental work whiter than the original colour they were when fitted. The treatment MAY remove some of the staining that may have accumulated over a long period on artificial teeth, laser whitening cannot make them look whiter than the colour they were when fitted.
Once I have had my teeth whitened, do I need to have further treatment? In the majority of cases Tooth Whitening Pro treatments will last from 18-24 months but a 'top up' treatment is recommended should you feel you need it. This may occur after several months - however we would not suggest having your teeth whitened more than twice a year.
Who carries out teeth whitening treatment? We guarantee you will be in safe, capable hands as all of our teeth whitening consultants have been specifically trained to a very demanding standard, is fully insured and specialise only in laser teeth whitening treatment.
Can I have my teeth whitened during pregnancy? We would not advise you to have your teeth whitened during pregnancy without first consulting your doctor, gynaecologist or dentist. As laser teeth whitening is a cosmetic treatment - we recommend that anyone who is pregnant or has any medical condition to seek their GP's advice before having teeth whitening treatment.
Do I need to eat specific foods prior to treatment? No, there are no specific dietary requirements prior to having your teeth whitened. However we do suggest that you follow some very simple eating advice for the first 48-hours after treatment (Link to appropriate page)
Why does your teeth whitening treatment cost far less than that offered by my dentist?Dentists that offer teeth whitening treatments normally need to charge more than specialist clinics such as Tooth Whitening Pro because they offer this as an additional treatment to their mainstream work. As we perform a high volume of treatments every week, we are able to pass on the massive savings we have negotiated when we buy materials from our suppliers as huge 'savings' to our customers. In addition, as we do not have to staff and equip expensive dental surgeries our overheads are greatly reduced. See our prices.
What if teeth whitening treatment does not work?Teeth whitening certainly DOES work but only on natural teeth - NOT on veneers, crowns, dentures or other artificial teeth or fillings. We guarantee that the treatment Tooth Whitening Pro offers will make a marked difference of several shades to the whiteness of your natural teeth.
When should I consider having my teeth whitened? You need to consider that Laser teeth whitening is purely a cosmetic treatment that is undertaken to improve the appearance of your teeth. Having bright, white, healthier looking teeth will also enhance your and this can make an amazing difference to a person's confidence. Having your teeth whitened enhances your smile and can be especially beneficial to help you look your absolute best and many of our customers book a treatment before attending a job interview, are about to get married or going on a new date. Incidentally, Tooth Whitening Pro offers discounted special rates to members of wedding parties that book their treatments at the same time.
I am only 16 - can I still have my teeth whitened?Yes, providing you are accompanied by your parent or guardian who agrees to you having the treatment. Other than this we are governed by the law that requires you to be aged 18 or before we can provide treatment.
